One week down, one week to go in THE TURN powered by AT&T and as it stands right now, Hornets Venom GT is sitting in a three-way tie for fourth place in Group D of the Eastern Conference. With two games remaining in group play, Charlotte definitely needs at least one win this week to stay in contention for the bracket in Indianapolis.
A Look Back:
May 24 at Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai: Hornets Venom GT fell into an early 23-13 hole after the first quarter, before winning the ensuing frame, 22-12, to enter halftime tied at 35-35. The high-powered Gen.G offense proved to be too much in the second half though, as the Tigers dropped a 35-point fourth quarter and drilled 18 total 3-pointers in an 88-72 victory.
May 26 at Grizz Gaming: A nine-point lead at the break for Hornets Venom GT quickly evaporated in the second half after Memphis turned the tables and won the third quarter, 29-10, to take a double-digit advantage into the fourth. Charlotte closed the gap and got within striking distance, but couldn’t avoid a 66-59 loss, despite a team season-high 32 points from Glennratty.
May 27 vs. Celtics Crossover Gaming: Down 12 early in the fourth, Celtics Crossover Gaming slowly chipped away to get the deficit down to three with less than 30 seconds remaining. With a chance to tie, Boston turned it over following a key deflection by Crown, who scored a season-high 17 points in the 71-66 win. DJ also had 15 points and 20 rebounds for Hornets Venom GT and Glennratty (25 points) notched his fourth consecutive 25-point game.

Coming Up Next (ET):
Wednesday, June 1 vs. 76ers GC (9 PM): The blockbuster trade to acquire reigning MVP 630 has yet to pay dividends for 76ers GC, which also sits at 1-2 after Week 1. Center Yusuf Scarbz was suspended for the team’s 76-72 loss to Celtics Crossover Gaming last Tuesday and Raptors Uprising GC’s FantaSZN drilled a last-second game winner to beat Philly, 62-61, on Friday night.
Thursday, June 2 at Raptors Uprising GC (7:15 PM): Toronto also made a deal over the weekend, sending center Dimez to Milwaukee in exchange for Plondo. The aforementioned FantaSZN shot salvaged a rough week for Raptors Uprising GC, which also featured double-digit losses to Grizz Gaming (77-66) and Celtics Crossover Gaming (82-52).
