HORNETS VENOM GT TO HOST LIVE, IN-PERSON 3v3 MATCHUP AGAINST MAGIC GAMING AT SPECTRUM CENTER ON MARCH 3

February 14, 2024 – Hornets Venom GT, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced it will host fans in the main lobby of Spectrum Center for a live best-of-three matchup against Magic Gaming on Sunday, March 3, at 2 p.m. The live contest between Hornets Venom GT and Magic Gaming is part of the group play portion of the SLAM OPEN, which is the first of three tournaments that make up the 3v3 BLACKTOP SERIES and has a $100,000 prize pool. Admission to the activity-filled event is free, though tickets will be required for entry. Tickets are available now at ticketmaster.com.

Doors will open and programming will begin at 1 p.m., with the first game tipping off at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the first 250 fans will receive Hornets Venom GT mouse pads. The Hornets Fan Shop will be open and stocked with Hornets Venom GT merchandise, and concessions will be available. In addition, the concourse will feature a variety of local esports organizations. Fans will also have the chance to win raffle items such as an autographed Brandon Miller jersey, an autographed LaMelo Ball basketball, Hornets tickets and more.

The NBA 2K League includes 25 teams, each comprised of five players competing as unique custom avatars, participating in a series of 3v3 and 5v5 tournaments. Hornets Venom GT will tip off the 2024 NBA 2K League season with a pair of matchups on Thursday, February 29, first against NBA Oz Gaming at 6:45 p.m. followed by Pistons GT at 8:15 p.m. All NBA 2K League games air live on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
