HORNETS VENOM GT’S KINGSLEY “CROWN” BRAGGS AND CRAIG “RIGBY” BURNETT JR. NAMED TO NBA 2K LEAGUE ALL-ROOKIE TEAM; CROWN ALSO EARNS ALL-NBA 2K LEAGUE SECOND TEAM HONORS

September 28, 2021 – The NBA 2K League today announced that Hornets Venom GT forward Kingsley “Crown” Braggs has been named to the All-NBA 2K League Second Team and to the All-Rookie Team, while guard Craig “rigby” Burnett Jr. joins him on the All-Rookie Team.

Crown was selected by Hornets Venom GT with the 20th overall pick in the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft. In 22 regular-season games, he averaged 9.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks, while shooting 63.4% from the field and a team-high 56.7% from beyond the three-point line.  Crown becomes the first player in Hornets Venom GT history to be selected to one of the All-NBA 2K League teams.

The eighth overall pick in the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft, rigby averaged 22.8 points, 5.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.7 rebounds in 28 games played, while shooting 54.2% from the field and 47.3% from beyond the three-point line.  He ranked 10th in the NBA 2K League in three-point field goals (132), tied for 10th in steals per game and ranked 20th in points per game. Rigby was the only rookie on the Eastern Conference team for last Saturday’s inaugural NBA 2K League All-Star Game and one of only two rookies taking part in the game.  In July, he became the first rookie to be named MVP of THE TURN Powered by AT&T after leading Hornets Venom GT to its first-ever in-season tournament title.

Hornets Venom GT, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, went 19-9 during the 2021 NBA 2K League regular season, posting the second-best record in the Eastern Conference.
