HORNETS VENOM GT TO HOST LIMITED NUMBER OF FANS AT SPECTRUM CENTER FOR THURSDAY’S GAMES AGAINST MAGIC GAMING

Doors Open At 6 p.m., Pregame To Include Q&A With Team And Scholarship Presentation
July 20, 2021 – Coming off a championship in the NBA 2K League’s midseason tournament, THE TURN, Hornets Venom GT will host fans in the main lobby of Spectrum Center for its two-game series against Magic Gaming on Thursday, July 22, marking the team’s first time playing in front of a live audience. Admission is free, but is also limited, so attendees must register prior to the event at HornetsVenomGT.com.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the first game tips off at 7:40 p.m. Prior to tipoff, the Hornets Venom GT players, along with Head Coach & General Manager Lawrence “BiggWest” West and Manager of Marketing & Team Operations Brian “Nacho” Traynor, will take part in a Q&A panel beginning at 6:20 p.m., which will be followed by the announcement of the Hornets Venom GT Scholarship recipient at 7 p.m. This year’s scholarship is designated for a student working toward a minor in Esports & Gaming Management at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, which is the first HBCU to offer such a program.
In addition, the Hornets Fan Shop will be open and will be highlighting Hornets Venom GT merchandise. Attendees will also have access to giveaways, gaming consoles, and food and beverages, as well as behind-the-scenes access such as halftime and between-game interviews with Coach West and players. Unvaccinated fans are asked to please wear masks.
