Team Also Adds William “Strainer” Morales, Acquires First-Round Pick In NBA 2K League Draft
October 18, 2019 – Hornets Venom GT, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today selected Xavier “Type” Vescovi from Warriors Gaming Squad with the first overall pick in the NBA 2K League Expansion Draft. The team added William “Strainer” Morales from Cavs Legion GC with the fourth overall pick, then selected Moustapha “Mo” Saab” from Mavs Gaming with the fifth overall pick and traded him back to Mavs Gaming in exchange for the 18th overall pick in the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft.
A member of the 2019 NBA 2K League All-Defensive Team, Type averaged 12.3 points on .619 shooting, 11.1 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.6 blocks for Warriors Gaming last season, ranking third in the league in blocks. In four playoff games, his numbers increased to 14.0 points on .684 shooting, a league-high 13.3 rebounds and 3.0 steals per contest. During the season, Type helped Warriors Gaming to wins in both the Turn and the Ticket tournaments, earning MVP honors of the Turn. Following the season, he was ranked No. 24 on the player-voted #Glitchy25.
Strainer is a versatile wing player who averaged 15.9 points on .592 shooting, 4.1 assists and 1.3 rebounds for Cavs Legion GC. He ranked among the top five in field goal percentage among qualified wing players.
