September 21, 2023
August 18, 2023 – The NBA 2K League announced today that Hornets Venom GT guard Antoine “antoinelove” Times will be one of the five players representing the Eastern Conference at NBA 2K League All-Star 2023, which will be held at the NBA’s Headquarters in New York City on Friday, September 22. The event, which will include both 5v5 and 3v3 gameplay formats and will award a total of $30,000 to participants, will begin at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
Two backcourt players and three frontcourt players representing each conference were selected by votes among fans, current NBA 2K League players, head coaches and general managers and a media panel. For the 3v3 portion of the event, the four players that received the most votes will each captain a team and be able to select any two of their conference’s 5v5 All-Stars to be included in their lineup. Additionally, two players from Community Teams that participated in the 3v3 portion of the season will be selected by NBA 2K League representatives and broadcast talent, and available to each of the conference’s captains as a lineup option.
A finalist for the NBA 2K League MVP award, antoinelove averaged 24.8 points and 9.6 assists, while shooting 59.2% from the field and 47.6% from beyond the three-point line, in 26 5v5 games played after joining Hornets Venom GT as an undrafted player during the Add/Waive Period between the 3v3 and 5v5 portions of the season.
In just his second week in the league, antoinelove was named NBA 2K League Player of the Week for games played May 30-June 2, becoming the first player in Hornets Venom GT history to receive the weekly honor after scoring 40 points on 15-of-17 shooting, including 7-of-8 three-pointers, in a win over Celtics Crossover Gaming on June 2.
On July 22, antoinelove earned MVP honors when Hornets Venom GT won THE TURN Powered by AT&T last month after averaging 23.6 points and 10.4 assists, while shooting 57.1% from the field and 46.3% from beyond the three-point line in 10 games during bracket play.
