HORNETS VENOM GT FILLS OUT INAUGURAL SEASON ROSTER WITH FIVE SELECTIONS IN 2020 NBA 2K LEAGUE DRAFT

February 22, 2020 – Hornets Venom GT, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, tonight added five players in the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft to finalize the roster for their inaugural season.

Hornets Venom GT selected three players in the first round – guard Alexander “ExposeHim” Whelan (sixth overall), guard Justin “Snubby” Stemerman (18^th overall) and forward Zaeya “ZaeBucks” Ishak (19^th overall).  The team added forward Robert Giovanni “Trap” Elizondo in the second round (28^th overall) and rounded out the roster with Alontae “Gliz” Proctor (55^th overall).  The first four players are new to the NBA 2K League this year, while Gliz spent last season with Jazz Gaming.

ExposeHim, who was considered one of the top players in the NBA 2K Pro-Am community, made history along with his twin brother, Freddy “GetonMylevel41” Whelan, who was selected by Jazz Gaming with the 31^st overall pick in the second round.  The pair will become the first set of brothers to both play in the NBA 2K League.  The brothers were longtime Pro-Am teammates, where they also teamed with Trap.

The five players join Xavier “Type” Vescovi, who was selected by Hornets Venom GT with the first overall pick in the NBA 2K League Expansion Draft.  A member of the 2019 NBA 2K League All-Defensive Team, Type averaged 12.3 points on .619 shooting, 11.1 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.6 blocks for Warriors Gaming last season, ranking third in the league in blocks.
